If it’s a new year, it’s a new quilt along! (Update Jan. 4: This quilt along has started. For links to weekly posts, scroll to the bottom of this post.)
We’re very happy to announce our second quilt along! We had so much fun last fall with the Tinsel Tree QAL, we decided to give it another go, this time with the Gateway quilt. Gateway is an Everyday Curve pattern that can be as scrappy or as controlled as you want! It’s fat quarter friendly so gather yours up and let’s get planning!
Like last time, we’ll bring you video tutorials, tons of tips, hints, and inspiration, and live Q&A sessions throughout the QAL to answer any questions you may have.
The QAL will be hosted through a weekly email sent directly to your inbox, and on Instagram and Facebook. The newsletter will also be posted on the blog. Be sure to follow the hashtag #GatewayQAL2021 on Instagram to see what others are doing for their QAL and to share your progress.
Prizes! We have partnered with some pretty great companies for weekly prizes you will love! More on this later.

Quilt Info and Supplies
First, purchase the Gateway paper pattern OR the Gateway pdf download version. The Everyday Stitches Template Set is also required to make this quilt. These templates make the cutting a breeze and oh-so accurate! (We have 8 other patterns that use the template set, making them versatile and economical. Check those out here.)
For your fabric choices, anything goes! You can use predominantly from one line – remember that fat quarter bundle you’ve been hoarding!? Or you can mix and match fat quarters in your favorite colors and prints. Mix in solids if you choose to make your prints stretch or keep it wild with all prints. There really is no wrong fabric choice with this quilt!
If you’re paralyzed with choice, we’ll post inspiration photos of lots of fabric lines you can choose from. And follow the hashtag #GatewayQAL2021 to see what others are doing – this will be fabulous inspiration!
We are making our own versions along with you! Trisch is making hers in solids and Jenifer is still searching for the perfect fabric for hers. We’ll update you on her decision as she makes it!
