We are doing a blog hop with Sherry Shish of Powered by Quilting to introduce her signature fabric line Love & Kisses from Island Batik. The fabrics in this line are very sweet – lots of pinks, purples and aquas.
We decided to make Circle Time with this fabric. Circle Time is one of our Everyday Curve patterns that works with our Everyday Curve Template Set. The curve is easy to piece, the blocks are large and you can complete a quilt in no time! The blocks are made up of squares, rectangles, quarter square triangles and curves – 10″ precuts work well for the for the centers and squares.
The piecing starts with the corner squares and rectangles. Piecing them all in one long line makes this go so fast!
The next components, arcs and the center triangles.
The centers can be as scrappy or as controlled as you want with this pattern. This time, we paired them up.
Once all of the components are complete, it’s just like piecing a 9-patch block. All of the seams are pressed so they interlock when the blocks are pieced into rows. Here is the final Circle Time quilt. We have lots of other versions plus video tutorials on our Circle Time – Web Extras page.
